I've been thinking about Talley Rings, but I'm wondering if their alloy is just as rigid as steel would be. I'm not very concerned about weight as these rings will be going on a heavy barrel rifle.

If not Talley, what rings should I choose?

Seekins or Badger. Spuhr if you want to spend the extra dough. Same with GDI.

Which do you guys prefer between Talley, Leupold, and DNZ?

I assume that talley and leupold is basically the difference in aluminum and steel? And DNZ gives you the benefit of having a bridge?

Take a serious look at TPS rings and bases... I have the steel TSR version "Low" rings and the their R700 SA steel base on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical with a SWFA SS 30mm scope. Very good rings, finish and quality is excellent. They have a unique ring torquing feature that makes them very user friendly easy to line up. I could have gone Badger or Seekins but and wanted quality rings that would keep me in budget for my build. The guys over at Sniperhide and Optics talk highly recommended them.

Seekins are very nice. I like the low profile design. No big bolt on the side.

Thanks guys, this helps a lot! Still haven't decided as I haven't had a lot of time to look around.

SWFA had the Seekins 30mm Low in stock when I ordered a set for my 700 last week. Very nice rings (and my third set). The other two sets are on FALs and have held up fine.

I'd check out Aadland rings (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CEYQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aadmount.com%2F&ei=c5QpUJCHHuPhiwLStoDYCg&usg=AFQjCNFfOM4ppQhAewA113IBRj31SB6IzQ). They're very robust and well engineered while being surprisingly light weight.

Except his selection sucks. 3 heights in 30mm only and that's it. Unless OP has a 30mm tube he's out of luck. It's a shame too as I really wanted to try a set for my Premier, but no go with the 34mm tube size.

I pretty much run leupold mk4 steel rings on everything and never had a problem. I like the TPS rings but they arent finished as nice if that matters to you.
