i managed to find a surefire new in box for $80 yesterday, and i cant figure why the price slash. last time i looked at this particular model it was fetching around $100....i cant find anything about this model being discontinued, and i have a weakness for these little lights(i have 5 of them), so i couldnt resist. does anyone know anything i dont? this model has been around a couple years now, but that isnt reason enough to discontinue it, right? tell me i just got a good deal:D

They are good lights and still being made.

Surefire is having to compete in the personal carry light class with lower cost, multifunction LED lights with cheaper service life costs and more light output.

This is also compounded with surefire using newer LED's in the executive line.

MSRP/MAP is $110. Typical discounting takes that down to about what you paid. Depending on their level, the seller still made money, or at least, broke even.

E2D is a good light, as is the balance of the line.

Great light... Good deal.

I carried one daily until I replaced it with one of SF's new L1 LumaMax's.
