I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. "The receptacles for the allen wrench are non standard"? There is no standard... Are you saying you don't have the right size hex key (aka Allen wrench) for it, or that the hex key you have is not the right shape?

If it's not the right shape, it's probably a Torx drive. Does it look like the one on the left?

I mainly see Torx on automotive and electronic applications, where mass production is a factor. I wouldn't think it would be applied on a firearm but I suppose it could be.
