View Full Version : carbine vs mid-length difference?
Sorry, I know this is a noob question, but I actually don't understand the difference in terminology between "rifle length" "mid-length" and carbine. I don't think it has to do with barrel length, rather the placement of the gas port along the barrel? Here is a pic of my AR, is this carbine length? How do you tell?

That's correct. Nothing wrong with asking questions to clarify, but you may want to search for this subject. There's a ton of threads with great info on this subject.
