That looks great. He bead blasted the finish. Did he open up the rear channel? I wonder what finish he used for the rear channel.
Overall it looks really good. Let us know how it shoots when you get the chance.
Oh baby Jesus, that is fine. Please post a range report. Any trigger work done?

Oh my! What I would give for that.
Very nice!
More pics and range report would be much appreciated.
The rear sight notch has a cerakote treatment and is square and did not require alteration.
Standard action and trigger tune. (which includes Wolff spring kit)
Shot it a bit with the 9x19 being quite comfortable and 9x23 (@1450 fps)were comforting.
(Mr. Bowen had relayed to me that he was impressed with the accuracy after test firing)
Hope to ring it out this weekend.
Here's another pic (hopefully)

Very, very nice! That man does fine work--
How's the recoil?
Not bad at all. I put it in the .40 S&W range.
I don't understand, why 9x23 is better than 357mag.

Not better. (less muzzle blast and recoil though)
This round is used in autoloaders to duplicate .357 ballistics.(10 rounds of .357 power in a 1911)
I like 9mm revolvers and this is just an evolution of that preference.
Also, the conversion lets me shoot about a half dozen calibers.
That is a pretty sweet gun! Those Pachmyer grips are THEE best I've found.

OK, I'm going to ask a dumb question so please be gentle. What additional calibers will it shoot now?
I was thinking of what a handy gun to have in certain situations. If you had the ability to fire a number of different rounds it would make the gun very versatile if the need arose where you might have to scrounge or barter for ammo. I’ve always had a thing for revolvers and yours is outstanding.

Truly original and I'd love to shoot it. Thanks for posting.
Matt, do you have a before pictures? Also, did it start out as a .357 or a 9mm?

I'm going to bet .380, 9x19, 9x23, .38 Super, .38 Spec & .357???
That's a beauty - I have a Service Six that I've been thinking of having round-butted, maybe I should think of a conversion like this also!

Yes I have a before pic that I'll post when I find it.
Started life as a 9mm.

Not sure about 38/357
What you mentioned and 9x21 and 356TSW.

Ah - never thought of those...
Based on local popularity of the named calibers, .380, 9x19, and maybe .38 Super would be the most likely to find if ammo became scarce.
Will it fire 9mm Mak?

seems it will fire 38/357 but the cases will be fire formed to the new chamber specs.

9 makarov is .364 mm so no it wont work (love that 9x18)

That's cool - at least it gives you options...:D
Will it accept moon clips? There are a couple of places that can machine the rear of the cylinder so that you shoot with and without moon clips. Moon clips are a quick way to reload.
Here is one place that does it. Scroll down.

Yep, runs on moonclips
Pinnacle converted my 642 to 9mm(somehow my nephew has it).
