Anyone got any recommendations for a place to eat on the strip? I would prefer a place that takes reservations.

I don't know if they are considered "on the strip", but I always enjoy Morton's (http://www.mortons.com/location_detail.php?pageid=location_detail&idlocation=43) and Smith and Wollensky (http://www.smithandwollensky.com/las_vegas.htm).

I'll go to the buffet and use the money I saved from not going to S&Ws and buy a new Colt

For steak try Gallaher’s inside New York New York…
For sushi try Nabo’s inside the Hard Rock…
For a nice relaxed place to meet with a group and have dinner away from a casino try the bar a Gameworks next to the Coca-Cola store…
For pub food try Nine Fine Irishmen inside New York New York…
For 24 hour Chinese try the Victorian room at Bill’s Casino…

That’s a good start…

I like Ruth's Chris (http://www.ruthschris.com/locations/lasvegassteakhouse.html)

Of course there's always the Hofbrauhaus (http://www.hofbrauhauslasvegas.com/), and the ever present (not on the menu) Blue Plate Special at The Hard Rock Cafe

I'll second Ruth's Chris. Been there literally a dozen times over the past seven SHOT Shows when taking customers out to lunch.

It's worth noting that most restaurants that take reservations book up early (days early) during SHOT. Many of the larger companies book tables at many of the better restaurants under the company name for meetings and customer butt-kissing. Also, my recollection is that a surprising number of places are closed for lunch on Sunday.

Hof Brau Haus .... Mmmmmm!

Regretably, don't know if I'll get there this trip.

Other than that, I can't be of any help. I just don't get down there enough to know.

I've been to Vegas only two times so my experience is limited but good. The Range steakhouse in the Harrah's is a great steak restaurant, reservation needed. I think it equals all the 5 stars steaks anywhere. In the Mirage there's Samba, Brazillian steak (churascaria style), I was stuffed with meat and liquor. Don't let the buffet style restaurants in the casinos/hotels scare you off. They ain't your daddy's Golden Corral. Their food are superb. The Mirage has one of the best buffet and so does Caesar's.

If you can't find a good place to eat in Vegas, it's because one's not trying.

If you want to check out somewhere neat and throw back a few shots of vodka, check out Red Square in Mandalay Bay. You can get dinner there but I'd go just to check it out and have a few drinks.

Get reservations at Charlie Palmer's at Mandalay Bay.

He has another restaurant called Areol (sp?) in another hotel (can't remember the name).

I really enjoyed the Buffet at Luxor. The Maxim had a tasty Prime Rib.

Not far off the strip is Jerry's Nugget (http://www.jerrysnugget.com/). They are known for their Prime Rib that comes in three sizes; English Cut 8-10 oz $10.59, thick cut $16.59, and double cut $33.18. I had the thick cut once and that thing was huge (and good). I could never finish a double cut seeing how big the tc was. Nice coffee shop with good service. It is sort of past the Downtown casino area on N Las Vegas Blvd.

If you can, check out the Bellagio breakfast buffet. Fantastic is all I can say.

Thanks guys for the advice. I have been to Vegas more times than I can count, but never paid attention to any of the restaurants (other than the casino buffet's).

The best meal I have ever had in Vegas was at The Four Seasons. It was amazing.

Border Grill (http://www.mandalaybay.com/dining/bordergrill.aspx) at Mandalay Bay -- casual atmosphere, reasonable prices, excellent new Southwest menu (http://www.mandalaybay.com/images/dining/border_menu.pdf), reservations accepted.

I really enjoyed my meal at Bradley Ogden's in Caesar's Palace.

It was a bit pricey, but overall a good experience. I don't know if I'd have gone there if I had to pay for it myself though. ;)

We went to Delmonico's in the Venetian and it was top notch. I think it was an Emeril Lagasse restaurant?

Breakfast: Lagos in Caesars.
Lunch: Trevi's in the Forum Shops in Caesars or at Lucky's at Hard Rock.
Dinner: The Range at Harrah's or at the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris.

Hey Grant, if you want a steak and I mean the best steak ever try the Golden Steer steak house on west Sahara. You need reservations and they have served some of the most famous people in the world ( they have plaques above the celebs favorite booths from John Wayne to Elvis). You will not be disapointed.

I don't know if they are considered "on the strip", but I always enjoy ...Smith and Wollensky (http://www.smithandwollensky.com/las_vegas.htm).

Tom Jones, that is a fantastic recommendation.

Smith and Wollensky is in its own free standing building right on the strip. Reservations can be made for the bar or the dining room. The great advantage is that the restaurant is not in a casino. This fact my be desirable for those of you who have been to Vegas enough times that you become bored with casinos.

Best steak in Vegas 17 years running. The Steakhouse in Circus Circus. I know the casino is a dump, but the restaurant is 1st class all the way. Think old school 50's style. Like Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin are dining in the next table over. Very classy. Superb food. You won't be dissapointed. Dress up. Don't wear jeans and a beater t-shirt.

Another good place is T-Bone's Chophouse in Red Rock Casino. Everything is ala carte. But the side platters are good enough to feed 2or 3 people. You get 2 waiters serving per table. I recommend the large Filet Mignon. You can cut it with a spoon.

I work in Vegas drop me an IM and I will recommend some more places if you like.

By the way, I love the Eotech I got from you.

Funny thing but I've heard that from two different sources in the last few days. I asked "what's the name of this steakhouse?" and the reply was "The Steakhouse (http://www.circuscircus.com/dining/the_steakhouse.aspx)". That is now on my list of places to try.
