My business partner just came in and told me that his brother was on a flight from Denmark to Phila that had a connector in Frankfurt Germany and that there were devices found on 3 planes in the bathrooms (US Air - Continental - United)... They stopped his plane minutes before take off (they were #2 for departure) and the plane was boarded and brought back to terminal where everyone was deplaned. He did not see anyone apprehended but did witness them re-board the plane with bomb units.

He was told by an employee that it was NOT a scare and that 3 planes were affected from the above airlines... Was told that there were between 2-4 people on the no fly list found at the airport. This all happened within the last 24 hours.

I can't find anything on the web and was curious if anyone else had heard about this incident. These are the only details that I have heard...

Nothing on the United/Continental employee intranet about this. I would think this would have made the headlines there.

My guess is they found nothing.

And 2-4 people on the no fly list at the airport doesnt seem like many, especially an airport the size of Frankfurt. I guarantee there are that many people or more daily at each US airport. People get put on the no fly list for wacky reasons. Hell, we have pilots on the no fly list.

I'm headed that way within the next 30 days or so.

One to watch, anyway.

Nothing on my radar and I get the direct alerts on my Blackberry. I'd say this one is a dud.

My buddy's Mom flew back from Frankfurt a few weeks ago and had a Middle Eastern man that was escorted away and detained by security for her flight. He was acting weird and trying to get through security with several cell phones hidden on his person. Very suspicious. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if terrorists were testing and evaluating security, response, etc.

That happens quite frequently.
