The local talk radio show is having a Kicks for guns event and I thought I would share what may be the newest craze for the "tactical" crowd.

Pure awesomeness

Another pic they put on facebook this morning

Just one of the many high quality assault weapons they will get I am sure.

Last year someone turned in a completly tricked out AR with all kinds of aftermarket stuff for a pair of shoes ??

If I remember correctly, that really liberal station does it every year. So sad.

Good. Anyone dumb enough to turn in their guns for shoes shouldn't have owned a gun in the first place.

I have always wondered what would happen if one were to outbid these people down the street.

Clear channel radio ( Monsters in the morning ) I listen to them and heard Russ make a comment about people don't need those assault weapons anyway

That whole station leans way to the left........

I like some of the shows they have but get pissed when they start spouting bullshit like that !!

How many are criminal guns or stolen guns just to get the shoes?

I don't know but would bet not many since all the pics are of shotguns and BB guns. They did post a pic of a couple of sawed off shotguns so those would count.

I think they got one last year that was used in a shooting in Orlando. They just like to brag about all those guns off they got off the street.

Look at the color of the bare metal on the barrel. It's most likely a dewat.

If some lefty group wants to go out and do something this profoundly stupid and get that warm smug feeling they desired, let them have at it.

The fact that they called it "Kicks for Guns" should tell you who they're targeting. As usual, liberals want blacks unarmed.

Article about the event:

Many locations received air-soft guns and BB guns. The fake weapons look similar to real guns.

Money!!! I'm going to buy this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Combat-Zone-Stryker-Airsoft-BB-Pistol/15137018 and get a new pair of shoes. Actually, I wonder what the limit on these things are..... I could take care of my Christmas shopping and get a new pair of sneakers if I lived in Central Florida.

Are you sure this is a lefty talk radio thing, and not the idea of the local dickhead police chief?

Maybe just Decoy guns that the Police Department brings in to make it look like evil guns are actually being turned in?

They had lots of local police chiefs on to promote the event.

Btw, I have never handled an Uzi so I would not be able to identify much from a picture.

I still think it's a shitty program. Most of the guns are crap but they always get old lugers and WW2 rifles plus the occasional SKS or AK/AR varient. Most of the pics are of old rusted shotguns or .22's

Make the best of it.

Buy a used Hi-Point for $90.

Trade them in for a pair of $150 Jordans. Sell Jordans for $180 on Ebay. I promise you that some dumb shit will pay that. There's a sucker born every minute.

Make $90 profit.

Repeat. Invest $1000, and walk with nearly $2000.

**** liberals. I'd love it if they did that here. I'd take advantage of their program so bad...

I've been seeing for over a year now the "flash mobs" and "shoe riots" that break out every time a new pair of "J's" are released at shopping malls via the media, mostly local news stations. The oxygen thieves who get beat-up and stomped on for the $150+ pair of "basketball shoes" will turn around and sell them on Ebay/Craigslist, et al. for far more than that. I've seen prices go as high as $600.

Considering Mark Parker (CEO of Nike) and Michael Jordan have their products made with slave labor in Asia where the shoes are made for less than $5 a pair, I'm sure they turn one hell of a profit.

What really suck about these "feel good" programs is (a) They are using our tax money to fund them. and (b) They usually distroy the guns they end up collecting no matter what the circumstances.

I seem to remember that when they did this "Gun Buy Back Program" in D.C. quite a few years ago, someone turned in a heavily engraved Luger. When they checked the serial number it turns out these was stolen from a Gun Collector decades prior.

They tracked down the legitimate owner only to inform him that someone turned in the gun and that they will have to destroy it. The owner supposedly offered to buy it back at a fair price and they would not do it. The gun was destroyed to the glee of the anti-gun moronss.

Even better. Sell 'em for $600.

Why not bank on the effort of the people trying to destroy your freedoms?

I have always wondered what would happen if one were to outbid these people down the street.Probably the same thing that happened to my buddy in Dallas a couple of years ago. The PD asked him to leave and stop, but there wasn't much else they could do.
