I am planning on doing a small upgrade to my carbine for 2008 and I wanted to get some additional informed opinions before I commit.
It's a Colt 16" M4 upper w/ a LT 7.0 and a TD stubby VFG. I plan on having Grant swap for a 12" open FSB CAR FF rail. I figured this would let me shitcan the VFG and let me get my hand out on the front of the gun. It would also keep my fixed front sight and let me eventually mount an X300 at the 12:00.
The question is, which one?
Troy 12" MRF-CX Extended Model
KAC RAS MRE Model "A" (Long)
DD 12.0 FSP Free Float Rail System
DD AR15 Lite RailTM 12.0
This carbine has run very well for me and I have been pleased with it to date. I know there are more optimal configs (mid-lengths, etc.) but I am thinking that "perfect" may be the enemy of "good enough" here.
