Yeah, I know that lately the country has started to suck. Then I start remembering of what could lessen the pain. I grew up in the sixties and Glen was one of the premier singers who could make you feel good again. The guy has advanced Alzheimers and at 75 he still mans up and goes on the road to bring a little smile to most of us. Just a few YouTube links to bring a smile, or a tear, to your heart.

I always enjoyed Wichita Lineman and Galveston.

Modern "country" is as useless as pop and hip-hop with the exception of the Texas country/Red Dirt indendent genres. The only modern main stream country singer who I will listen to is Gary Allan.

My all time favorite artist across all genres is Johnny Cash.

Nice.

Always thought Glen Campbell infused his songs/music with such heartfelt emotion. The kind of music that could make you break a smile or tear up just a touch while driving down the road listening to the radio by yourself.

A rare gift.

Glen Campbell was one of the best session guitarists in the world. In fact, in his youth, he deliberately set out to learn and practice the guitar with that intent. Most people probably don't know that it was Glen playing the guitar on the albums of many famous singers.

Excerpted from Wikipedia:
He played on recordings by Bobby Darin, Rick Nelson, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, The Monkees, Nancy Sinatra, Merle Haggard, Jan and Dean, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Phil Spector.

From December 1964 to early March 1965, Campbell was a touring member of the Beach Boys, filling in for Brian Wilson. He also played guitar on the group's Pet Sounds album, among other recordings.

According to The Guardian, "In their heyday, Campbell, Ronald Reagan and Charlton Heston – three proud Republicans – were close friends."
