Ok I disassembled my 870 I removed the bolt and forend. Once I reassembled the bolt carrier group and forend I tried to rack the slide a couple of times just to make sure it was in good and I can pull the forend and bcg out unless I go slow. Is everyone's like this or did I mess something up?

I did search Google and one post from shotgun world came up but I couldn't get it to open like the link was broken or the sight was down.

I'm assuming you mean the BCG will come out with the barrel off.

In the receiver of the 870, there are two metal springs Parts 55, 56 on the image below. The BCG usually pushes those out of the way to get out if you are rough with it while the barrel is off, but to put the BCG back in, you will need to manually depress those.

Is that what you are getting at ?

Chances are you are fine. I got to learn how to put the BCG back in the hard way when I was much younger. I was cleaning the gun, took the barrel off, racked the action and out came the pump and BCG.

Is there anybody that makes aftermarket wooden furniture for the 870?

I don't think so. But a quick google-fu brings up lots of people selling off their wood stock furniture.

here's a pretty clean set.
