I will just start off, I been a long time lurker on this site and greatly appreciate the wealth of professional knowledge on here.
With that out of the way, I been shooting carbines for awile.
I was always carbine gas and 14.5 barrel with FSB. Its what I started with and what I was used to.
Over the years there has been a big move to slicker/lighter builds.
I call them fast rifles lol, cause combat rifles are looking more like 3-gunner rifles with lights and lazers.
I have always wanted to build a rifle around this "fast" concept. So I started off with the heart of the fast concept and thats the rail
I looked a long time for a slick tube style rail that could fit lights and lazers. Troy had what I was looking for at the time, TRX battle rail.
Tried it and I didnt like how it mounted, thought it was cheap.
Then I held out just this past spring and because of this site I saw the noveske NSR was coming out!
This was my rail! I love everything about it! So I dont bore you guys to death, PICTUREShttp://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc207/LevinLove/IMG_0210.jpg

the heart of the rifle is the barrel. Daniel defense has great options! So they were a great choice, not to mention how well their weapons perform. I wanted FSB 16in midlength barrel. for 3 reasons.
1. fsb soo I can cut it down and have a pinned gas block.
2. 16in because I had a KAC triple tap brake that I wanted to install on this rifle for my KAC NT4 suppressor.
3. midlength because it goes back to my "fast" mentality. Midlength is softer and has a nice recoil to it. Makes follow up shots fun and quick. Also, your proble wondering why not a lightwieght barrel? Well, I like my groupings tight and to me the harmonics are better with a heavy barrel. IMO. Its what I like lol.

I chose Key forged colt upper reciever because its what I liked.
Also I like how DD ships there fsb pins loose. Its nice and easy to take off.

You have to get the fsb cut down as skinny as possible because of the NSR diameter. Im pretty decent with a grinder soo it wasnt a big deal for me.

As you can see here, its a tight fit but it does not touch the rail at all, and there should be plenty of play for barrel whip. I havnt noticed any marks or contact so far.

Always good to use some type of anti seize on the reciever threads just in case I want to swap barrels down the road I wont have any problems. (hopefully)

If you notice the KAC triple tap is timed on by shiMs. Its best to use shims when running a suppressor. I have it at the 1 o clock because im a left handed shooter. As instructed by KAC.

Well, this is my build. The rifle shoots great! nice and flat with fast follow up shots! My DBAL and m600c are on my other rifle for now, but I will be putting them on this rifle after I run it more.
COME ON NT4. NEXT MONTH SHE SHOULD BE HERE!

I like a guy who is not ashamed to use the standard military grip. I like that grip as much as any other.

Ya, I tryed other grips but I always go back to the a2. My hands are soo small that it's pretty comfortable for me.
