Just Started my first build. This is it so far. Tested at 100 yards - 1/2 inch groups. Not too shabby.

What am I looking at here? Do you care to list any specs?

What ammo are you shooting to get 1/2 inch groups (3,5,10rd groups?) at 100 yards?

Sounds like it is accurate for sure.

I had a S&W M&P VTAC and it as very accurate. But I had only shot it a little bit. Then I learned more about ARs and found out about some S&W problems and sent that rifle off to live with a different family.

You may want to refer this short little list of guidelines and give up some details on your rifle. We have no idea what makes this a custom build by looking at a few pictures.

What problems did the S&W have that forced you to get rid of it? If it was a " very accurate rifle" as you put it, why ditch it?

Please enlighten us about your build so we don't have to use our mental telepathy powers.

Maybe this is the wrong thread to post this on I'm new to this. Its S&W M&P 15 1/7 twist 5.56 16" with a BCM Auto Bolt carrier group, Geissele Two Stage Trigger, Magpul back up sights, Rail guards and Custom ACOG 4X32 scope with Dual Illum Green horseshoe / Dot .223 BDC.
AFG - ANGLED FORE GRIP. Ammo used for 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards was 223 Rem 53 gr V-MAX Superformance. Test was 5 sets of 3 shots. All 5 tests were no larger than 1/2 inch groups.

Like I said this is my first AR outside of the Military and I too have been doing research since buying this one and plan on a Larue OBR 7.62 or a 300 Blackout for my next one. But until I learn a little more about how AR's really work, I'm Not mixing and matching too much as far as uppers and lowers. But until then I'll shoot it till it brakes, fix it and shoot it again! And just incase you are wondering I have a Rem 870 Magnum police shotgun for home protection so I'm not relying on my AR for that.
