right next to the gas tube, you can see some metal. is this wear normal? its a new gun with only 220 rounds fired through it.

The wear looks fine to me. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see some significant gouging.

i should take a better picture. il keep a eye on it to see if it gets worse. it just looks like the finish is worn away a little.

That looks like the area, that the charging handle reciprocates in. Its probably from you torquing on the handle when you charge the rifle. Do you charge it with the palm of your hand, or on the latch side only?

My opinion is dont worry.

looks to me like it came from the CH. If you charge the rifle one handed it will just be finish.

Im shooting a righty gun lefty. When I pull the charging handle back I think I pull it with my ring and middle finger.

Seriously bro. You are worried about nothing. If you don't want it to wear then call it a "safe queen" and lock it up. It is normal and happens to all AR's.

i never said anything about the rifle being a safe queen. i was just asking if was normal wear, as in the title...
