I recently missed a good deal on a new Colt 6720 light weight upper. I was wondering if there is anybody making an equivalent upper. Light weight and good quality.

Here's a good alternative.

Check cheaperthandirt, they have the FDE Magpul variant of the 6720 in stock. Also ask Ratworx, they have a couple different 6720 variants, and they often have components like complete uppers taken from brand new rifles that they part out. These aren't always listed on their website, it's worth asking them.

Oh, and I just noticed that Clyde Armory has "base model" 6720s in stock. Good price, too.

It never hurts to ask. Thanks for the tip.

As mentioned above - actual 6720 uppers aren't totally rare - don't forget to check G&R Tac as well ($600 iirc).

Otherwise, BCM and DD both make nearly identical uppers, and both are available with your choice of handguards and CHF (option or standard, respectively).

If you start off with the stock handguard configuration, the Centurion C4 rail is my favorite (wife's rifle uses the FSP12 C4 rail), but if you wind up going BCM or DD you can have a factor rail of your choice for only the price of the rail.

I'll second DD and BCM. You can't go wrong with either of them.

It looks like the BCM and DD uppers are about the same price range. Looks they are available too.
