How "tuned" are carbines to specific extensions and buffer weights? I'm in a ban state and am considering something like a SR-15 or LE6920, but instead of pinning the stock, just getting a rifle extension and throwing an A2 or a Rifle MOE on there. I believe I read somewhere that the KAC should only be used with a carbine receiver extension - is that the case? Are most carbines fully interchangeable between the two? Thanks!

Most carbine uppers will run just fine on a rifle stock. If anything, I would expect it to run a little better with the rifle buffer and spring than with the carbine setup.

A decent carbine should run better with a Rifle buffer system.

Your only constraints are that you MUST match the Buffer to the R.E.... i.e. don't run a carbine buffer in a Rifle tube and vice versa.
