Admin/Mods: I did a search and found no existing threads on this product. If this is posted in the wrong section I apologize.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Mossie Tactics at all and it is not my intention to be "advertising". I merely want to share this new accessory with all of you.

A good friend of mine called me over the other day because he wanted to "show me some new cool item" he picked up recently. At first glance I thought he had a broken Mossie Tactics Midnight Mount(MT2400FSB) but further inspection proved otherwise. He then showed me it's application and needless to say, I was pretty excited.

Kinda spiffy.
Could be the shizznit for people who want to top mount thier light but cannot due to the light being too 'tall'.

EG: a Streamlight TLR 1 mounted on a top rail in front of irons will block roughly the lower third or so of the sight picture due to the size/height of the light housing proper.

pretty cool option.

seems it would do well on shorties that have tiny rail space but no fsb

Has it proven to be of use over time, or long since found its way to the land of unloved toys?

Anyone got any additional feedback on these light mounts? I'm considering this mount for one of my rifles which is set up with a non railed handguard.

Any opinion if this mount leaves enough room for mounting an AAC 762-SDN-6 suppressor (1.5" diameter)? Looks like it would be extremely tight, if at all. Thoughts?

Be aware that I think these are made for noveske rails. I picked one up for my daniel defense lite 12 and had to make a few "mods" to make it fit.

There problem was the last rail link. First off, I had to chop off a few centimeters to get it to line up with my last rail link. Once I got that cut off, I had to add a little depth to the slant?teeth area where the mount clamps on the rail. I still haven't even gotten it totally straight but it sits on there a lot better than out the box. Now it's pointing slightly up and right but only noticable when you stare hard. I'm still playing with it to make it fit right but it's a lot of little cuts and sanding here and there.

Wahoo, I'm planning on coming to the next PHA match this month. I can show you the mount in person if you want.

I'll post pics when I get home

I doubt a suppressor would fit. It only sits about 1/4 inch above the barrell if even that much.

I wont make it out to the match this month but I would like to see pics. I planned to mount it on my MI Gen 2 handguard.

Got one coming that is going on 13" VTAC Alpha rail w/Troy HK folding sight over a 16.1" bbl (14.7 w/perm'd muzzle device) and will hold a Streamlight TLR-1s

Will provide picture(s) upon install.
Can already forsee a large amount of protrusion beyond the muzzle though.

as you can see, the last track on the rail is about twice the size of the other tracks.

I cut a notch off the back end and found out I had to do a little more to make it reach past the end of the rail.

I still haven't gotten it perfect but its a lot better then what it was originally.

It's still pointing slightly up and right but it's a lot better. I'll keep playing with it till I get it right. You might be able to fit a suppressor in there.

These mounts are designed to be like a handgun rail so it'll except the TRL easily. The real question is, is the last track on your rail short like the the rest?

I like the placement and quality, just wish it would've fit on my DD rail.

Yes, last rail is fine.
Front edge of front sight base is dead flush with the end of the rail.

Knew TLR would fit, more interested in seeing how much is going to be way out in front beyond the muzzle as there's only about 2" of bbl sticking out of the handguard.
I'm going to use it regardless, but kind of wonder how goofy its going to look :)

Mount received and installed.

•Package has mount in bottom of bag and screw behind business/part ID card in seperate bag section so the metal parts don't work each other as the package is shuffled around. Small thing but shows someone was paying attention to details.
Screw is roughly 3/16" longer than standard Troy sight mounting clamp screw.

•Streamlight TLR-1s light requires Glock rail adapter piece and that is quite snug. Not force it tight but definitely no room to shuck for or aft.
1913 adapter is much too big in thickness and weaver would likely fit but I don't have one on hand to try.

•Pic with ruler on edge is to show plane of the top of the light bezel in relation to iron sight

•When in near absolute co witness with Trijicon RX06 1x24 reflex sight (RX14 mount, no shim plate) the 'thumbnail' made by the top of the bezel appears in view. When sight is up you an see full front sight post and wings but it looks like its sitting on top of a hump.
Installing shim plate will likely alleviate the issue and will create a lower 1/3 co witness.

•Front edge of light is roughly 1" beyond the front edge of the muzzle device when mounted on 13" VTAC Alpha with Troy HK style folding sight in furthest forward picatinny slot.

•There is an obvious and distinct need to add a forward hand stop in this configuration.
The first 3-4 times I tried to activate the light switch without looking I managed to not only grab hold of the muzzle device but was also successful in getting the tip of my pointer finger over the front of the muzzle opening.

Hopefuly these pictures are of some small benifit

GTifosi - I have a similar setup to yours and just bought one of these, I'm hoping it'll work well since the TRL-1 is too tall just up on the rail... I never thought of gripping the muzzle device by mistake, that sounds like it could be a very bad thing to happen... I was hoping to run it slick, but after you mention that, I might have to look into something as a hand stop.

Can anyone give some more feedback on using this with an 11" rail on a 16" barrel? I do not want to use an 11 o'clock mount if possible, to stay away from my sling (which I like to keep as far forward as possible).

I also do not like lights on the right side (I find them difficult to use the momentary switch when shooting right handed)

Just got my Mossie Midnight Mount today. Here it is on my DDM4V5 LW. I think if my last lug on the rail was any bigger (longer) it wouldnt work.

That's because there is no standard for the last section of the rail on rail systems. I was told some companies machine the rail from the muzzle end to the rear and some cut from the chamber area forward. There are some versions from even the same manufacturer that will not work with that set up.

The most you could do would be to grind or cut it down.

I like your setup. Can I ask how long is that rail and barrel? I'm thinking a 14.5" barrel with surefire mbk556. The rail will be fortis rev 14" with a surefire ultra. Do you think that light on that mount will go way pass the muzzle break?
