Edit- figured out what to do-
AR15 in .223 is the SHTF/HD weapon- leave it alone
SBR in 300 blackout is the range/fun gun. Then I'll buy a varmint upper, probably white oak armament in .223. Then one range bag, one lower, two uppers for punching paper. SBR for standing, and the varmint gun for long range.
I think getting an SBR/NFA gun involved in a defensive shooting scenario would look really bad in court.
