Finally took delivery of my new pistola about 6 weeks ago, but I just got around to finishing the pictures for the builder, Combat Precision (http://www.combatprecision.com) based in Cumming, GA.

I've only got about 300 rounds through it since it was delivered. I did get to shoot it during a class in April before it was fully finished, and it ran nearly 1000 rounds with only 2 bobbles (both mag induced). No stoppages since delivery. This thing runs like a top, and shoots like a dream. I'm VERY happy!

That is one damn sexy 1911. Glad to hear it runs a great as it looks.

Just called my boss in to see these pictures:

Me: "Look at this amazing 1911. It is a work of art!"

Him: "How is that any different from my Glock?"

Me: "Are you BLIND?"

That 1911 is a complete work of art. However, I'm with your boss on this one. Haha.

Hopefully you guys wont crucify me for saying that.

I dig it, OP.

How come the brass bead sticks out so far though? I thought they were supposed to be flush with the sight?

Thank you for the kind words.....I can see how a Glock can be mistaken.:confused::confused::confused:

The front sight along with the design of the CPT-ECS rear sight is designed for FAST Acquisition. The little bit left out allows for a quick polish every now and again.

Gorgeous 1911 by skillful pistol smith! GA has everything that I ever wanted! BTW, I don't see a $ list (and wait time?) on the website!

Ahhh. That makes sense, and I actually think that's pretty smart.

How does it compare with other single dot sights of it's type?

I rarely ever see dudes run a brass bead front sight, let alone with a plain rear. Can you see it well in low light?

I've ran the 10-8 u-notch rear's with the brass bead fronts on M&P's and 1911's. They are a little problematic in low-light but that can be taken care of with a white light. This will allow you to see the sight outline which is all you usually see when using a light anyways. In the daylight they are almost as easy to pick up as fiber optic sights without the inherent durability issues. I prefer a front sight like an Ameriglo ProGlo but the brass bead setup works pretty well for what it is.

Absolutely gorgeous weapon! What model grips and sights are those as I don't recognize the front sight?

Rear plan sight and a front sight with some type of dot is IMO, the fastest set up. Followed by two dot set up. say no to 3.

Here is my philosophy on the low light question. If you can't see your front sight you can not see what you are shooting.

As RCI1911 pointed out once you put a white light on it your good to go.

I actually shot one of Dave Berryhill's builds (NICE GUN DAVE, BTW) that had the large gold dot set up. It is very very fast. I am to cheap for gold so I go brass! But it works and is a solid set up. In the day time it is not far behind a F/O IMO.

I also designed my rear sight to help enhance the sight picture and allow better Front Sight Focus.

Maybe Jason can chime in and give his thoughts on the set up.

I'm also very interested in those grips, who manufactures them and where can I get a pair.
