First off if this is too close to not quite right for this site go ahead and delete it Mods. No worries.

Today was my 9th grade son's first day of JROTC. His goal is to get accepted to West Point and then serve his country. One way or another even if he doesn't make it to West Point he has decided to go into the Army. He will be the 5th generation in our family to serve their country. Myself, my father who retired and served 2 tours in Vietnam, My grandfather who fought in WWII and my Great Grandfather, we're Finnish, who fought the Russians when they invaded Finland. His Step Grandfather was a Marine and fought his way out of the Chosin Reservoir.

Hopefully he makes it into WP. Chances are that he'll make it if he's preparing this early. Badass kid. :)

What a fine young man you are raising! It is wonderful that his ambition is to serve his country as a Soldier.

Please wish him the best for us.

There are few things that old soldiers enjoy seeing more than squared-away, aspiring new soldiers. Looking good!

I wish him the best, his family has set the bar pretty high. He has some excellent examples to follow.
