Flood Damage

On September 11, 2012 my home town of Santa Clara Utah after 3 inches of rain in just a couple hours was flooded after an earthen dam broke. In all about 30 homes and businesses were damaged from the floods. Thankfully no one was hurt. Unfortunatley in many of the homes were numerous firearms and collectables.

My cousin is a local gunsmith that i occasionaly work with when he needs an extra hand, after the flooding we've been taking in many of the flood damaged firearms and here are some pictures as we've been trying to clean them out.

Its been almost hearbreaking, as soon as we've open up these guns dried mud and clay just fall out. So far we've rescued 2 browning auto 22s, 5 A5s, 4 BARs, and 1 benelli super sport, all from the same collection with about 10 more to come.

I wish, that would have made the job much easier. Most of the work was done with simple green, brushes, and toothpicks.
