They dont even offer the new DDM4 rail with these...

That's a shame too. IMO, they could get rid of the Lite rails and just make the new ones. They have too many different types of rails that do the same thing.

needs more FSP options, especially RIS II MK18 FSP.
Do these have the new "enhanced" front sight?

Make that two. I will just wait patiently until they do.

I'm pretty sure Joe M. said the New Rail is supposed to replace the Lite Rail, but they may still have stock of the "old" ...
Really amazing, I love to build one.
Things like the Chrome BCG and SSA trigger
I'm glad DD is offering this on their website. Maybe it'll help provide those new to the AR world with a solid option. Hopefully, DD will add more options in the near future.
Dupe post thanks to my slow computer and impatience where I hit the submit key a second time.
so much for doing anything productive at work today...

I'm surprised they aren't offering a Battle-Comp for a Muzzle Device,,but even with out that,,its a cool feature !! I have already built 3 or 4 differnt Uppers,:D Tax time is a loooong way away,,but it will be a busy time for me,,,LOL !!! Can't wait !!

Neat little tool! I cringed when I saw how cheap it was to buy a complete rifle from these folks, versus compiling my own. What was I thinking?!?!? LOL
I can see this being a big time waster among fellow forum members.
Well I started looking at the prices of what I was building and, not cheap.
Here's my ultimate DD rifle:
1:
Lower:
DDM4 Complete Lower w/ Geissle SSA Trigger
2: Gas System Length:
Mid Length
3: Barrel:
16" Barrel
4: Muzzle Devices:
Flash Suppressor, 5.56 NATO
5: Bolt Carrier Group:
Bolt Carrier Group, Chrome Plated
6: Rail System:
Rail Interface System II
7: Sights:
Fixed Front/Rear Sight Combo
8: Grips
Total: $1,881.00
But then I noticed a DD v5 LW with sights is still 1799$ and thats with out the SSA trigger or chrome BCG and with a DDM$ rail instead of a RIS II.
I guess build your own is a decent deal. But it does come in at the same price as what something like a KAC SR15 can be had for. I think I would prefer the DD though.

To an SR15??? Why?!?
I was sad to see that they didn't offer a custom factory SBR build your own option.

Should also have a NONE option in the rail section.

While I realize that the 14.5 is an SBR per the NFA, I meant a truly short barreled rifle (10-12 inch).

To an SR15??? Why?!?
Well I have an SR15 upper. The URX II was too short and I'm not sold on how sturdy it is as far as rotation, It's also not something the end user can take off.
Right now my SR15 upper is at rainier getting a DD RISII installed, and having the gas block pinned.
By comparison to the DD I built, the barrels are a draw. The DD has a better trigger with the SSA option, and less non standard parts, the DD also has a better rail.
Don't get me wrong the SR15 is awesome, it is one of, if not the best ARs out there.
The reason you cannot build certain configs is because the parts are not in stock. It is set up to let you build and buy an upper that can ship w/in 24hrs.
Hmm so many choices... So whats the deal with their muzzle devices? I havent heard or read anything about them.

If only they offered a FDE middy rail.

DD's prices have been creeping up over the last few months and as a result, my last two builds were BCM based.
This is probably the better rifle building programs a site has. Although, it's only for DD stuff it seems like it's a good way to answer questions like, "Can I put a Mk18 on a Midlength and keep my FSP gasblock?" which is always an obvious no. Measure the rail.
I'd like to see BCM get something like this, though. I think for sure they do a great job getting photos up of the many configurations. I think that's a big selling point.
