Anyone using the newer version of the American Defense Aimpoint Mount with 5 screws instead of 6? If so, anyone had a problem with the retaining zero? Coming loose at the bottom and wobbling, causing the rounds to walk up and down the paper?

The mount is secure and wont come loose at the bottom.

The on I installed on my wifes 3gun rifle is VERY tight. IIRC it was made with 5 screws because some mechanically declined people were installing the rings upside down or half of it wrong etc.

Every time I see that blaster, it makes me want a JP rail to start building yet another upper......

GotM4,
Nice set up but you need a real optic, ie. Micro T-1 or H-1, on the forend! Not saying...just saying.

You guys are killin' me. ;)

I just gave her my H1 for her SBR (she bought a LaRue mount for it at SHOT).

She had a M2 on it with a ADM mount. So now I'm down a nice micro on my AK (SLR-106) a T1 would look real good on there, but I'll likely just install the M2 on it with the short Springfield Armory ring, like I did the C3 on my other AK (SAR1). I'm hoping that ADM starts making Aimpoint Micro mounts, these sights are taking off like wildfire. Aimpoint knocked it out of the part make such a tiny sight with multiple uses. What I would like to see is a 2.5-3x magnifier about the size of the Micro Aimpoints. :D

Old pic of her SBR.

I saw this thread after yesterday's bump.

Your post isn't that recent, but if you're still having an issue, note the following: Split ring mounts like LaRue and ADM need to have the rings tightened to the base (lower fasteners) first, and then have the rings tightened around the optic (upper fasteners). IIRC, ADM's instructions don't mention this explicitly... I'd recommend they add it.

If you're still having issues, check what came with the mount for contact info for ADM or the dealer.

Also, note that ADM changed the fasteners at some point. The 6-screw stuff I've used had fasteners of all the same length. The 5-screw stuff I've used had fasteners of different lengths, depending on whether they were for the top or bottom. It's worth making sure the fasteners aren't getting switched (if that's even possible).

Please don't feel like I'm talking down to you. I realize this may be obvious stuff you've already checked. However, maybe someone else can benefit.

It's a 1" 1-3x. SWFA sells them for $150 http://www.swfa.com/pc-2321-256-weaver-1-3x20-classic-v3-series-rifle-scope.aspx

Great scope for a game gun but I wouldn't use one on a serious rifle/carbine. There's a some distortion if used all the way down to 1x but if you move it to 1.25-1.5x it goes away.
