View Full Version : Finished my dedicated .22LR build!

I wanted to build something in 22LR that closely mirrored my main setup, and finally finished it today.

CMMG dedicated .22 LR w/ stainless bolt, collar, etc. I had barrel cut down to 14.5"
BCM Upper Receiver
KAC URX III
EOTech XPS 2-0
AXTS A-DAC-F lower with Colt LPK

Rest can be seen. Color is Magpul FDE cerakote.

Will be taking it to the range sometime next week to see how it runs, but I imagine it will run sweet as it ran very well before I had the barrel chopped and the parts painted.

A CMMG barrel and bolt group mounted on a BCM upper correct?
I was not aware that CMMG sold just .22lr barrels.

Please let us know how it shoots and reliability.

sadmin: Thanks brother! I'm stoked you liked it. I had a lot of fun with it and it has become my go to setup. I think the URX III & 14.5" barrel is a match made in heaven.

polymorpheous: Yep, CMMG barrel and bolt group. They're very reliable, probably one of the more reliable .22 setups out there. I haven't shot for accuracy but once I got it going I found it to feed bulk pack very reliably (FTF every 200 rounds or so, but this is 100% on the ammo).

Seems a bit pricey for what it is but could be that I'm just jealous. I did my .22 build way before BHO .22's and way before cheep-o S&W and Colt .22's. OD green w/ envy. Glorious days we're living in!

I happened to see that the other day when I was browsing CMMG's site. I think they look pretty cool too, but I think I will stick with the black dog magazines for the money.

How/where does your upper eject the spent cases ? Do they hit the uppers case buffer at all ? My CMMG upper came with this case buffer and ejection port cover installed. http://www.cmmginc.com/product_p/55ba530.htm. If it is not needed,then looks wise I would prefer not to use it.
