This is a duplicate post.
I received no responces so I thought I would move it to General Discussion in hopes of getting some advice.

Hey All,
I have an un-fired pre-ban Colt 6430 9mm headed my way and I want to care for it from the get-go. I was told it was well kept and is in good condition.

I have ordered the AR-15 Armorer Course DVD from Smart-Flix in hopes it would give me lube and care technics, but it has been a month and it is still on back order.
Sigs and Glocks need a good lube and inspection before the first rounds get sent down the barrel.

So then, what are some of the first things I should do before taking it out for a ride at the range?

Also, Colt's web site seems to be more geared to new stuff. I can't find anything that would help me find data on older models.

Thanks,
CS

I don't know! I've never owned a 9mm AR. I wouldn't suspect there'd be anything special to do with it other than shoot it. :)

Shooting it is on my agenda.
Just need to know if I should lube it first and where.

Probably a typo, 6430 is more likely it.

Inspect it when you get it, lube the bolt carrier, run a wet patch or two down the bore and see what comes out, then a dry patch, and you should be good to go.

No different than any other lightly used system.

Thanks for catching my typo. It is a 6430 9mm. About the same as a 6450 but it is not marked LE only.

Its like a 6450 but with a fixed A2 stock.
