free float question

Which free float and what size will fit a colt 6920 without interfering with the front sight or needing any other modifications?

For the carbine length system of the Colt 6920 I would personally go with the LaRue 7". Daniel Defense makes really good stuff too so just find one you like and put it on.

Any free float rail designated for carbine length gas systems is fine. There are literally hundreds available. Another option to consider are rails designated as "FSP" rails which extend past the A2 front sight post but have a cutout in the top of the rail. See my avatar for an example.
