Does anyone know if the rifling in these barrels is standard rifling of Polygonal? Also, what kind of steel is he using on these barrels?

Those that have this barrel/upper/rifle, how does it shoot? I have one of his 12.5" barrels and it is amazingly accurate, does the same hold true for this hammer-forged barrel?

Thanks
-Hootie

From their site:

Made of Mil Spec M249 Machine Gun barrel steel, with heavy M249 Chrome Lining,
(appx. 2 times as thick as an M4 or M16)

Yes, I have seen that, but it still doesn't tell what grade of steel; for instance 4150, 4140?

Give them a call. I called earlier today and I was shocked that I got an actual person on the line, and that person knew what they were talking about. I am too used to working with large corporations :D .

Yes, I have called them already today, several times and got a message each time that they would be closed Feb 2- Feb 8.

It has conventional rifling.

Do you have doubts that the cold hammer forged steel used to make M249 Squad Automatic Weapons is not strong enough to hold up to whatever an AR15 can dish out??

If not, hopefully someone will come along with what the exact designator of the steel is to put your mind at rest.

No, I have no doubts at all, I was reading through the Rob_s comparison charts last night and seen this barrel mentioned, but never found where it said what steel it was. I just wanted to know what steel it was.

I wa told it is a proprietary steel, Chrome Moly Vanadium, that is the same was what is in the M249 machinegun.

Thanks again
