ATF Agent Accidentally Leaves Gun in Bathroom at Mitchell (http://www.620wtmj.com/news/local/15372131.html)

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says a special agent returning to Mitchell International Airport at Milwaukee left her firearm in a bathroom there last night.

Assistant special agent in charge Guy Thomas says the special agent immediately alerted authorities when she realized she left her weapon.

He says it was either recovered by local authorities or a civilian. Thomas says he didn't know how long the weapon was left in the bathroom but he says the whole situation ended quickly.

Thomas -- who is based in St. Paul, Minnesota -- says the situation is being investigated by the ATF, which is standard procedure.

He isn't providing details about the Milwaukee-based agent, but says she's embarrassed.
