View Full Version : Preferred Recipe for Loading Nosler 69gr HPBT?
What is the prefered recipe for Nosler 69 grain HPBT and TAC powder? Just wondering where to start for powder weight and OAL. TIA
Just to let you know if you go to the ramshot website you can look it up or you can fill out a form and they Will send you a printed copy of the ramshot and accurate load data. It Will also come with a shotgun manual.
This data is for 69 sierra matching, but will work for.custom competition.
Tac min 21.9 at 2671fps max 24.3 at 2921fps oal 2.260 this is the 223 data
This is for the same bullet the 69 matchking, but this is the 62,000 psi or 556 data TAC min 22.9@2775fps max 25.4@3049fps oal 2.260
be careful with the 556 data it is hard to max out without crimped primers
yeah i have the Ramshot manual and the Nosler data book. What I am looking for is pet load for those 2 (Tac and Nosler 69gr).
Example: Hornady 55 FMJ-BT and 24.5 Tac is a pet load for this forum.
Does anybody have a recipe for this combination they would like to share?
Lc case, 23.5 of tac, cci #41, 69mk bake on 350 for 5 minutes. There's your recipe. You already have the load data which is required for reloading. Recipes are for baking. Do some work yourself like everyone that has who has a pet load or least spend a little time online. I can think of multiple sites that list true pet loads not just what people on this site use. Laziness in reloading is dangerous and if you have a problem working up a load you have data for buy factory.
If I offened you I am sorry, that was not my goal. My goal is to find a basic sweet spot to start a ladder test so that I can refine the basic sweet spot to a refined sweet spot for my gun. Thank you for your time, jstone.
24 grains work it up re 15 will work better same load
Go to the white oak website click on the precision tab then the loading section there will be a number of good loads for the 69
never heared of that website. I will check them out. Thank you.
Its white oak company the one that sells uppers for service rifle. They have a section on the website for loads for the 69 & 80 mk. Around 24 grains is pretty standard for the 69/77 mk and will work with tac, varget, re15.
A little below or a little above 24 is generally a sweet spot.
Yeah, RE15 at 25gr with the 69's is my favorite. It varies between others as I've read anywhere between 24.5 to 25.5.
yeah just went to there website never released that they had reloading section, learned something new today.
25gr of Varget, Federal Small Rifle Primers, seated to Mag Length.
yeah Varget is good stuff. But I got pounds of Tac that I use with 55FMJ-BT.

Save it for your 55s and use my H322 world beater recipe.
