Hardwired Tactical Shooting Basic Pistol Course

Hardwired Tactical Shooting (HiTS) will be presenting their Basic Pistol Course on November 10-11, 2012 at the Dallas Pistol Club, Carrollton, TX. This class is specifically intended for those individuals who desire to learn the safe, proper and professional use of the pistol and who have limited experience or knowledge in that area. The course is especially suited for new CHL holders, new handgun owners or any other person who wants to build or refresh fundamental handgun skills and competence through professionally delivered training methods in a low stress, family friendly setting. This class is not structured as a tactical shooting class, but will impart the skills and information a new shooter will need for further development in either defensive or recreational shooting pursuits. Minor children students are welcome if accompanied by a parent.

Topics to be presented include:
• Comprehensive firearms safety training
• Fundamentals of shooting
• Comprehensive manipulations and management of the pistol
• Mental aspects of pistol shooting
• Building block approach to skill development
• Skill development drills that will lead to competence with the pistol

This class will be instructed by Darryl Bolke and Wayne Dobbs, who collectively possess over 50 years of law enforcement, private citizen and international firearms training experience. Their bios may be viewed at: www.hardwiredtacticalshooting.com

Required Equipment:
• Service/CHL suitable pistol/revolver (We recommend most students train with a 9mm pistol, but all calibers are welcome, including .22 LR. We also have handguns for student loan, if needed)
• 500 rounds of reliable ammunition
• Three magazines or speedloaders
• Wrap around type eye protection (Oakley recommended)
• Ear protection (electronic type recommended, but not required)
• Baseball cap
• Closed toed footgear
• Attire suitable for the weather
• Holster: outside the waistband type without any radical cant; no SERPA holsters (contact us with any questions regarding holster suitability)
• Magazine/speedloader pouch to hold at least one reload on your person
• Sturdy belt to hold the holster and magazine pouch securely and that fits in pants belt loops
• Personal convenience items such as snacks, drinks, minor first aid items
• Note taking material
• Good attitude and a willingness to learn
