Just wanted to show my support for Army Chief. Don't have enough post for GD. And maybe others like me would like to post. The power of prayer is strong, so I'm in AC.

Been praying for you and your family Army Chief, may the peace of The Lord be with you. The Tecumseh poem used in Act of Valor keeps running through my mind thinking of your courage facing this final challenge. May we all strive to be as great a man as you have no doubt have been.

I'm geniunely saddened by the news. Your presence on this forum is a big reason why I continue to return day-after-day for nearly 3 years. I hadn't seen this either, and I am deeply saddened after reading his words on the linked thread (I don't have 200 posts, so I don't think I can post in that forum). Thank you for posting this here so we all see it and can let him know that he has touched us all.

Our prayers for him and his loved ones. Like many others, AC has provided us with much appreciated input and guidance. We're not here to paddle our products, but to be a part of the community, share and help as we have received, AC, among many others, is a large part of this experience.

I am truly inspired by your outlook and composure as you face this ordeal, Chuck. I feel honored just to be a part of this community in your presence. My family is praying for you as well. I hope you get results with the treatment, and get to have more time with your family, and if you can spare it, with us too! ;)

AC posted this today:

You guys are too kind, really. I'm not especially saddened by my condition, but the tears can come quickly when I read some of your words. I had no idea that this place would serve as such a powerful wellspring of support, and am in your debt for such consistent kindness.

Had a difficult morning session, but found the resolve to push through. I tend to swell up in the face quite a bit at night, and the form-fitting restraint mask that I'm required to wear in the machine was molded long before my face reached its present levels of distention. That means that it hurts to have the thing clamped down on top of me on a good day -- and on a bad day, it is excruciating. (This is also when I tend to run into airway/breathing/swallowing issues.) I'm staying strong mentally, but it is admittedly getting a little old feeing like I'm being waterboarded every other time I go in.

Doing fine otherwise. It was great to have the family here, and although we've spread back out a bit now, I've still got tremendous support across-the-board. Like I said, I'm feeling pretty blessed, all things considered.

Again, thank you so much for rallying behind me as a community. It has not gone unnoticed.
