Does anyone have any suggestions on a gunsmith who can machine and thread the bolt handle? i have the knob. A local rifle-smith would charge me $90, which seems high to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would say $90 for the labor sounds about right; you might be able to get it for -$60-70 on the low end. I pay a little extra to have a gunsmith do my stuff only because they guarantee their work. If you have your buddy try to do it at the machine shop for $20- he probably wont replace your stuff if he screws up.

This guy (emailto:dpmsgroupbuy@yahoo.com), who advertises on the hide, does them for $42.

Yikes... try going straight to George Gardner over at www.gaprecision.com. It's $95 which includes the handle itself. Got mine with a 1 week turnaround door-to-door.
