I totally disagree, Littlelebowski.
Having been ALL over Detroit several dozen times, the place is almost literally, a "war zone". Ive puckered up myself there more than a few times. Now, Im against the the unions too, police or otherwise, and not being a particular fan of most cops too, I will agree that their numbers have been drastically cut, and crime is increasing daily. And the TYPES of crimes are more & more heinous and evil. Utterly animalistic. And the last time I was there was about 6 years ago, and it was unreal then. I couldnt even get out of the truck I was driving to walk to a store or fast food place to eat, without either being harrased, ****ed with, or eyeballed by the local "youths" there. I did not carry at the time, because I often went into Canada, and well, you wouldnt dare get caught armed there. But, I did have other weapons on me, what good it woulda done I dont know. But, as Ive said here and told people for 15 years or more now, ALL major cities are like this. EVERY ****ING ONE. Down south, up north, east coast, west coast, everywhere.
Ill put Nashville, Memphis, & Atlanta up against Detroit anyday in terms of the violence. I used to think.."one day, people will have enough of living in fear, children raped, kidnapped, murdered, property stolen or vandelized, getting mugged or beaten, ect, ect," ..but no.
No, I NOW truly believe that society as a whole, is COMPLETELY LOST, it will never regain its moral compass and common sense, and those who are responsible will never admit they were wrong, and nothing will change for the better, only get more worse, and more worse.
It is, to MY mind any way, every man for himself, and his family.
