Very nice setups! I'm really digging the second one. That's a lot of money that was dropped for a .22.

thanks.

its not that much money for these 2 conversions.

the M14 EBR was a $100 used

and the M1A JAE stock was about $230

Well, that's cheaper than I thought it would be.

Is that a real JAE stock? how did you find one for so cheap?

How many .22's do you have now? I will say, your work continues to amaze me. You do some really cool shit with your .22's defcon.

11 .22LR that I can interchange from 30+ stocks right now.

Five Marlin 60
Three 10/22
One Marlin 795
One Marlin XT-22
One Savage MKII

Eventually I'll have 30 plus .22LR for each stock

I'm focusing on completing my bullpup conversions the next 2 months.

So you guys will see range time videos for .22 versions of the AUG, TAR21, L85, FS2000, PS90, FAMAS, M99 Barrett

I gotta know, what is with your addiction to .22? Why would you want that many .22's? Is it because they are so cheap and you can go shoot something completely different every other day and not feel the pain in your wallet as bad?

because im a total mall ninja. :p

yea thats one of the main reasons.

you cant beat shooting 3 cents a round for hours and hours.

when i shoot my AR15, i lose interest shooting 50 rounds of .223's after 5 minutes. im more eager to shoot my .22 conversions.

sometimes its a hassle to interchange them from different stocks. i want a 1:1 ratio (1 .22LR in each stock), so its easier for me to do cleanings.

also eventually i get to hang each gun on my wall when i build a man cave.

being a civilian in california, there's a lot of things we cant have. these scaled replicas are the closest thing i can finger bang while having cheap fun plinking at the pistol range gallery. i know ill never get close to shooting a real M82, M200, M249, M60, Bren, MG42, BAR, TAR21, L85, etc. so i went .22 conversion route

if i had $10,000 to buy a real M82 Barrett or M200 Cheytac, i wouldnt buy it. id rather just buy a bunch of .22LR's and create clones out of them.

That makes sense. So do most of these conversions require you to use the Ruger 10/22? Or are there some other conversions that allow you to use Marlins, Mossbergs, etc...

not all require 10/22 or marlin. ive seen others use mossbergs, CZ, etc.

marlin 795 and 60's are easier to do since the width of the receiver is 1 inch and youll have more airsoft stocks to choose from. the 10/22 is 1.5 inches wide which wont fit most airsoft stocks

majority of the airsoft stocks are 1 inch to 1.5 inches wide internally so just as long as the .22LR action/receiver is within those parameters, its likely to fit.

the hard part is just figuring out how and where to place your brackets. after doing 2-3 conversions, it gets a whole lot easier and quicker.

doing bullpups are the hardest because you have to figure out how to create and bend the trigger linkage.

go here www.customrifles.info. thats we're i did majority of my research from others who've done it 5-7 years ago

So you're saying that some of your conversions are just buying an airsoft gun, taking out the gearbox, blah blah blah, and then dropping in the .22?

defcon

yep. get rid of all the internals, dremel out the plastic/metal, drop in the .22, bolt it up with custom brackets, and then range time.

some are aftermarket stocks like archangel made for other rifles and dropped the 10/22 inside.

now im into buying WWII parts kits and rewelding them up to a 10/22
currently working on a 1919A6, 1919A4, Ma Deuce, MG42, Bren, BAR

im also talking to a CNC guy to cut out custom pieces for me to bolt onto an aluminum chassis for a 10/22.

its been a year and im half way done with them. rest of the stocks that need to be completed just needs trigger linkage, welding and bedding. it'll probably be another year when im fully done with all these.

does all this conversion you are doing (i.e. bullpups) effect the reliability of the rifles?

defcon
10-12-12, 11:00

reliability is good even with the bullpups. the .22's are bone stock. there's a lot of testing and dissassembly/reassembly i have to do to make sure i everything functions properly.

the only part with bullpups is the trigger linkage because there's a 1/8 steel rod pushing the trigger on the .22. the trigger pull wont be as crisp
