Upon reading up on the ammo recommendations for my M4-2000, I see that AAC recommends testing any open tipped ammo to check for jacket separation. I know there have to be tons of M-4C members who have done all the testing needed so here are my questions:

1) What commercial OTM ammo has been deemed "safe" for shooting without damaging my suppressor; and

2) What are members experiences with reloading (correctly reloaded) OTM ammo for suppressed use.

Furthermore, I'm running a 14.5" now, but will be purchasing a DD Mk18 upper in the future. Since I've asked these questions, I might as well go ahead and ask if it will be an issue shooting OTM ammo out of the suppressed Mk18?

I've shot close to 600rds BHA 77gr SMK through a DD 10.5in with M4-2000 summer 2011. My can still works today.

Shouldn't be an issue since the bullet won't expand till it hits something.

I assume they are referring to thin jacketed varmint ammo.

I dont know of any OTM over 50gr that might be a problem.

I might be careful with 40gr/45gr/50gr JHP Varmint ammo.

Thanks guys! I should have mentioned that 77 gr SMK was what I was looking at, but my you have already answered my question.

BH ammo runs great in my guns.
