What firearm will this be mounted to?

I would recommend a Surefire G2 and Viking Tactics mount. That will get you an excellent tactical light placed in an ergonomic spot for $46.

Here is a pic of my G2 with a Vltor mount mounted to my KAC RAS rail on my sbr. BTW, put the Surefire LED lamp assembly in the G2. Nice setup.

I had a extra TLR-1 lying around and put it on my newest AR. Its mounted at 9:00 and its easy to activate using a thumbs up grip with my TD stubby.

They are an ok light, but would save the little extra money and get a SF X300.

I used a TRL-1 LED on my M4 for a short time while I was in Iraq. I ended up switching back to using my 6P because the TRL-1 simply wasn't bright enough when transitioning from the sunny, desert sands to the dark, dank interior of a mud hut.

ok yeah, cause i thought only the x300 was for mostly pistols but i guess it really doesn't matter to much, so you say through experience, to take the x300 over a g2?

Shihan

It really depends on what you want. If you want to save $ go with the G2.

well i know i need to spend enough to have a good light, the x300 isnt to bad so im gonna save for that, i dont want to spend 150 or a little less and have something bad, so id rather spend a hundred or two more on a good light.

That would be a good choice. I have used an X300 on my 6933 since September and it has greatly exceeded my expectations. Indoors it more than handles the job and outdoor it helps out to 75, maybe even 100 yards on a dark night.
