So I'm in Arlington, VA at a rental house for a time and need something secure my weapons. Has anyone had any experience with the Amsec Defense Vault:

It looks like a handy bit of kit, but I figured I'd ask around here first.

I don't want to install anything big in a house I don't own, and this is as much to secure against my daughters hands and have things accessible.

Any other recs?

I saw one in a local safe shop. It reminds me of a basic gun-locker, such as a Sentry, Homac, etc. It was not very heavy duty. Though it should offer better protection than a looked door/ room.

I would look for a clean used gunsafe, then just sell it when you leave. There are some compact models out there on the used safe market.

Or; just secure them inside your vehicle. A secure/ alarmed storage facility is an option as well but cost may be an issue in some areas.
