My friends son is interesting in purchasing the following handgun. The seller is calling it a pin gun (performed a google and zero hits) and notice the cartridge has a pin located on the side. The seller said make me an offer.

Anyone know the history and worth of this handgun?

Have requested more pictures, he will meet with the seller in the next two weeks or so.

That looks like something that was on Sons of guns last season. French origin maybe?

It looks very Belgian/French to me.

Lefaucheux (http://www.nramuseum.com/the-museum/the-galleries/a-nation-asunder/case-39-civil-war-imported-arms/belgian-single-action-pinfire-revolver.aspx)

it looks like a French Lefaucheux M1858 chambered for 12mm pinfire. I'm far from an expert and just googled "pinfire ammunition"
