View Full Version : Is there an AR15 training group in Atlanta?
Guys, I wanted to know if there is AR15 training group in Atlanta? I just bought my first rifle and would love to get some basic training.
Thank you,
Jake

Awesome, thank you so much! I will definitely reach out to him.
What about a group type of training, more like folks that have a common interest getting together? I am ultimately looking for something like this.
Thinking that Atlanta should have something like this.

Guys, anyone? I have seen that there are groups like these in other cities. I would think that Atlanta is plenty big to have a common interest?

I'm in NW Ga and would be willing to commute to a point if there was a group.
The folks at Precision Applications (http://precision-applications.com/) periodically run carbine classes. I'll vouch for Shep's precision rifle classes and am looking forward to his intermediate carbine class in May. Rogers (http://www.rogersshootingschool.com/) also offers carbine training alongside pistol.
As for Atlanta-area shooting groups, these are typically done on a club-by-club basis. Atlanta is woefully underserved when it comes to shooting facilities.

Great Matt!
Anyone else in Atlanta who would like to get together??? It would be great to get a group together.

Guys, I put together a public spreadsheet to get the group together.
If you are interested, just add your info to it. It is public and anyone can edit. I have already added my information.

If youre looking for a class, Precision Applications.
I have taken a class with precision applications. Shep put on a good basic class. 2 days, rifle and pistol transition. I'm gonna try to hit the Larry Vickers one day basic rifle in November.

Sage Dynamics is out in your neck of the woods, I'd keep an eye out on their calendar. Aaron really has his stuff together.
Group shooting is fun and a great way to practice learned skills, but is no replacement for actual training with a legit instructor IMO. I'd recommend getting at least a class or two under your belt first.
Been a pistol shooter, competitor and trainee for years, but AR's are new to me....albeit I'm addicted. Have one, building another in SBR form, but need some training....I'm in within a couple hundred miles for sure.
