View Full Version : Mossberg 500 FWD sling Stud

I have been looking around the internet for a option for installing a forward sling swivel on my Mossy 500. I already have a MI endplate adapter with a quick detach between the the receiver and stock. I have looked into a new barrel retaining stud with a swivel, but from what I have learned is it's a pain to change. What kind of solutions do the readers of M4C have for this issue? I'm going to attach a pict of my 500.

CDM mounts.... You could take off the rail section if you didn't want to use it.

If you decide you want a light mount Elzetta makes a nice, durable mount. One side is the light mount and the other can be a sling mount or pic rail.

My cap was threaded for a swivel. I had a QD cup in the parts bin. One flat head hex screw later and my sling is attached. If your magazine cap isn't threaded, I see no reason why you couldn't do that yourself. The 550 keeps the sling in line with the side of the gun, and can be loosened to make use of the QD feature if needed.

My 590a1 had a swiville to attach to the end cap and not sure/beefy enough for a sturdy sling to attach it to. have an ATI harness for other, but would like to upgrade to a Vickors style sling. Is there room to fit for harness(?) that isn't trying to squish into a small space?
