View Full Version : Current NFA transfer time for dealers?

Hi everyone,

I ordered a Surefire suppressor a few months ago from a local dealer, and it still hasn't arrived. They've told me that the suppressor is on its way, but dealer transfers are now taking 10-15 weeks instead of the usual 3-4.

I think I'm being taken for a ride here. Anyone know how long their most recent dealer transfers were? It would help me a lot in moving forward.

It's taking a little longer these days.

A recent Form 3 submitted on 7-30-12 didn't approve until 9-6-12. Another submitted on 8-21-12 didn't approve until 10-4-12.

Also depends on the company. I waited 6-8 months for suppressors from a very well known company.

I ordered 2 cans from an out of state dealer on August 1st and the Form3's cleared and the cans physically got to my dealer on Sept 12th. So I would say 4-5 weeks for Form3 transfers.

I had the opposite experience, I ordered a can from an out of state dealer and the transfer paperwork took 16 days to be approved. Can was at my dealer several days later (it had to go a few thousand miles).
