I can add a few hundred if I have too. What would you suggest? I have a noveske n4 and I'm thinking of either purchasing another of the same upper or something similar.

You're not really giving us much information to go on. You're basically telling us that you've got $800-$1000 burning a hole in your pocket, and asking us to help you spend it. You say you have a nice rifle, and want to buy another upper. Why?
What do you need the second upper to do?
If you just want a backup N4 upper, then buy that.
If you want it to do something for you that your current upper can't, then you'll need to tell us exactly what that is.

Frankly, if you're just dying to spend $1000 (you state you can add a few hundred more), then go buy a Colt 6920 and then you've got two very capable rifles.

Hassle? What hassle?

Its pretty simple....

Instead of blowing that $800+ on a new upper, buy a factory BCM SBR for $1025 from Grant @ G&R Tactical.

I would say BCM or Noveske. I am in the same battle right now myself.

And get to shoot it in 7 months?

This was posted while I was on break at work so I didn't have much time. Since I already have a pinned fsb on my n4 and m4 hand guards, I was thinking of going a different route. Have both front and rear flip ups and a gas block with some sort of rail. I'm looking for an upper built to last and of high quailty.

At the same time I love the simplicity of my noveske n4, so that pushes me to buy a very similar one if not the exact same.

I would probably do the SBR route now before everyone goes into complete retard zombie obamapocalypse mode.

You can build one with good features for about 1000.00.

http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Vltor-A5-Receiver-Extension-Tube-p/vltor%20re-a5.htm

Now add in a lower of choice with a QMS trigger, get the Vltor buffer and a green Springco spring and the other misc. small parts and a rear sight and you are in business.

If you're looking for instant gratification, (non SBR) I would suggest Noveske, or as others have suggested, Bravo Company.

Daniel defense V7 complete with BCG and Charging handle. A extra $100, it's a $899 upper (if you find the right shop) but worth the extra $100 if you ask me.

That's the best price I've found, I've been shopping around for one.

The OP is in NY like I am and that means no SBR for us, we the unwashed masses aren't to be trusted with such things

Unfortunately my ESP powers have faded so I was unaware. Probably would have been a good idea to mention that in the beginning. ;)

Title 1 - there are tons of uppers that are nice and will do, define what you intend to do with it more and the answer will emerge.

When AIM was running DD V5 uppers for under that price that would have been an instant recommendation, and it's still worth looking at the Rainier Ultramatch setups with a light handguard of your choosing.
Obviously any BCM factory option makes sense, and if you can pick up a used Colt 6920/6720 upper that budgets you almost enough to attach a Centurion C4 FSP handguard to install yourself.

I would go BCM. Just because with the success of mine, which is my first built gun, I am afraid to change to something different. :p

I, honestly, was thinking of buying a whole new rifle based on this election:D, excuses! Instead, I spent my money on what I thought was wiser, for me, it may not be for you: I got a Remington 870, with accessories and ammo, and a new trigger, bolt, bolt rebuild kit, firing pin, cam pin, for my AR. I thought that having two rifles would be too much for me, so I got spare parts to keep mine running for a long time, and it was still cheaper than buying the rifle configuration I was looking at.

That may be all you need, but if you want a different rifle for a different need or job then buy a new one. But consider getting spare parts for one or both.
