FN SCAR 17s. Ordered it last week from Shooters Plus (http://www.shootersplus.com) and picked it up this morning at my LGS. Looks and feels great! Gonna see how she shoots this afternoon.

Congrats, I want one but it still needs to come down in price before I can justify it. Come back and give us a range report.

Nice! I so want one..I have a 16S, but really lusting after the 7.62 version. Hopefully I'll have the bucks to snag one some day, but I suspect prices on everything is will surge upward. Any plans on optics on that bad boy?

Really depends on the role of the rifle. For SD/SHTF you really can go wrong with the aimpoint T-1. Its light, built like a tank and has great battery life. If you want to reach out and touch there are a multitude of fixed and variable power optics out there.

Don't want a scope. I have a eotech on my ar and while i like it i kinda want to try something different like the t-1 or maybe a acog

Congrats. I'm as happy with mine as any rifle I've ever had.

Don't want a scope? I didn't either until I tried a TR24G Accupoint, and decided that was the one. I'm happy with that choice too, so far.

Nice buy. I'd be torn not between which optic, but which two. The SCAR 17s just beg for a magnified optic with an offset RDS in my mind.

just got back from the range and I am impressed. only got to shoot about 60rds. about 10 of those were sighting in the flip-up irons. It is sweet. the recoil is what impressed me the most as it almost non-existent for a 7.62.

It is almost scary how little recoil there is...

Congrats on the new blaster. I topped mine with a Leupold VX-6 which is a 1-6 with red dot. So far, so good for me. YMMV. Also, FWIW my SCAR grouped quite differently with different weight bullets and I'm sure it will vary barrel to barrel...mine groups best with 150gr. Also, paid Bill Springfield $80 to smooth the trigger, he did a great job and the accuracy showed.

Re: Recoil.
I've let maybe five people shoot my SCAR 17. They acted almost the same way: Fired the first round, turned and looked at me, while chuckling out loud.

A Leupold 1-8x would be perfect on that SCAR.

Grats!

Now put some ammo through it.

Don't forget to check the torque on the barrel screws.

If your wallet can handle it, I would go for the ACOG. If not, then +1 for the aimpoint. Congrats, very jealous.

Elcan all the way. RDS and ACOG at the flip of a switch.
