I am assembling a range bag from square one. I have a new range bag and a multi tool to put in it. What does the well equipped range bag contain?

That about does it for me as well. I also have sun screen and for this time of year, a spare stocking cap and gloves.

Insect repellent is good to have as well, along with some neosporin to go along with the band-aids.

Paper plates. :)

They make good targets and I can have lunch on them too.:D

I also carry:
-Cleaning kit, mil issue w/front sight tool & broken shell extractor
-A bottle of Breakfree LP
-Spotting scope
-Glasses
-Ear pro
-Gloves
-Leatherman tool
-Stapler and staples
-A couple of Zero targets just in case I need to adjust anything

*Ammo/mags are carried in an ammo can.

I have a bigger tool box for major cleaning and repair (spare parts/BCG/ect..) but I don't consider it a "range bag" and most of the time I don't even take it with me. Maybe I should...

That reminds me....

Some Wet ones in case you want to eat out at the shoot. (wash that lead and filth off your hands)

And some Toilet paper... in case of an unforseen dump.

Also, I don't use a bag. I use a sterlite plastic tote. It's easier to keep stuff from shifting. Specific items are always in the same place for quick access. Plus a hard tote acts as a small table for loading or whatever.

Somebody already touched on it by noting "Spare AR parts", but-

I have a small plastic insert in which I keep essential spare parts in case of bad (not catastrophic) issues.

AR-
Spare extractor w/ spring & buffer
Spare bolt with upgraded spring & buffer
Hammer spring
Buffer retainer and spring
Firing Pin
Firing Pin Retainer Pin
Sight tool
Dime (Aimpoint adjustments, I hate pocket change)
Punch (FGC size, in case of need to replace hammer spring)

1911-
Recoil Spring

Glock-
Standard captive recoil spring/rod

1 can Copenhagen

I also keep a dime, nickel and quarter in a small ziploc for those optics/lights that don't like screwdrivers for adjustment or removal.

My Streamlight TLR1 is one of those, it has a rounded coin-slot tightening knobs that a screwdriver would mar, and fingers can't get all that tight.

Seems like I never have pocket change when I need it, so I make sure I carry those with me.

Oh and a can of Cope or bag of chaw. I quit dipping/chewing years ago, but I still allow myself a litttle at the range, when I can go. Usually keeps for 3 or so range trips before it gets too stale.

I also keep a clean T-shirt for the ride home. I like to change into a fresh shirt that's not all sweaty or dirty for the drive home.

Most of the same stuff above plus extra firing pins. When I get around to buying another AR bolt, I'll add that too.
