View Full Version : What did you do for Veteran's Day ?
I made sure atleast one kid learned about our veteran's and their sacrifice. We got to watch the GIs kick some Nazi butt at Camp Mabry:p
We did manage to leave with a Sherman Tank;)

I had to work unfortunately. Texas Roadhouse was giving free lunch to vets so myself and a couple vet coworkers stopped by for lunch. Unfortunately so did every other vet in the area and we didn't have enough time. Oh well I still really appreciate what Texas Roadhouse did.
I looted some stores and what not.

Called the Sheriff because the in-laws locked me out of the house.
Ate free food at chili's and olive garden. Still ended up spending $20 or so at each place.
I went hunting with my favorite Vietnam veteran and shot a decent buck! We had a cigar and a cold beer to celebrate the successful hunt & commemorate Veterans Day. My dear friend and hunting buddy still has a difficult time discussing his time in service.

I managed a certain casual dining restaurant while we gave away about $5k in free food. It was such a rewarding experience, but there were a few bad apples who will probably end up ruining it for everyone.
I worked while non-vets had the day off (as they work for the local Govt) & came into my store.

What a moving statute. I had no idea that existed. Thanks for posting the pic.

Thank you for your kindness. I usually go to a place that does that and eat, but I go ahead and pay for my own dinner. I can afford it, and I would rather the money go to another vet that cannot.
But I do appreciate the businesses that do that, and always remember them when it's time to take my grown children out to eat.

Saw a group of service members at Hooters and picked up their tab.
