I did not get any pics of them, but I was VERY impressed with what I saw. So much so that I ordered a bunch of them.

As I stated in the other thread, there will be three options. In the future, I think they will make some 5.5" barrels/uppers for people that have SBR's.

Even Tac Sol's site (http://www.tacticalsol.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=4) doesn't have them listed yet.

I'm very interested in these. As I understand it they will work with any mags that are designed for the Ceiner kit, which include the Black Dog magazines.

No firm ETA and I think they will retail in the $600 range I believe.

is it a new design or does it use a ciener kit ?

Thanks Grant, hope you don't mind if I postpone my .22LR build I was about to get from you.

I'll wait for these to come out. I actually have an extra SBR'd lower and one of these would be awesome.

Will it trip an auto-sear and how does it deal with bolt bounce?

Looks like it takes the BDM mags too. Awesome!

Got more info...

The configurations are what Grant stated. They are as follows:

M4 style, 16" bbl, 1/2X28 threads, $575.00
LT or lightweight w/Hogue, 1/2X28 threads, $575.00
MC or integrally suppressed; barrel + suppressor at .920 diameter, $ 850.00

Not full auto capable yet, blow back design. Barrel is 4140 steel Mike Rock blank w/the correct twist for .22LR. Bolt is 416 stainless steel. Works with BDM mags....90 days out.

Looks nice, I may even have to sell my VZ-22 upper for one of those.

I just can't get too worked up on these rimfire conversions after watching a guy I know go thru the effort of getting one running. After all the effort and expense, he'd have been better off just shooting rifle ammo.

A 10/22 with a Dot sight and some butler creek mags is a shit load cheaper and much more reliable too.

That's why I'm getting one from Grant! I know he'll pay attention to detail and make sure everything is working properly before sending it out the door. ;)

Sadly this is the conclusion I have drawn as well. I am going to use my would be upper money for an 870 or Benelli M1.

Ive wrestled with that concept.

I have come to the conclusion I want a .22lr rifle with the same feel and height over bore on the irons and optics as my ARs...

Innocent_bystander built a hell of a nice Spikes rifle. It's pretty sweet, but he's got a dedicated lower with the reduced power hammer spring. He pinned a real FSB to the Spikes barrel, and modifited all the mags to get them reliable.

spikes is working on their own 22 bolt/conversion. similar to a ciener, but its supposed to WORK.

How necessary is the reduced hammer spring?

Anyone have a range report on one of these?

I am trying to decide between a TACSOL and a Spikes. Any other choices that I should consider? I don't like the Nordic personally, and don't imagine it will be cheaper.

So, has anyone got a TacSol upper yet?

I'd be interested to see how it compares with the latest Spike's .22 upper.
