View Full Version : Springer Operator MC Front sight. Help

What height is the front site on an operator mc from the factory and what size dovetail cut is it? I want to replace the front sight on my MC because I don' t like the small white dot. I would like to buy a Big Dot to replace it. Thanks for any help.

IIRC, XS only makes one set for the Springfield. I'd give them a call.. Ron

Watch this carefully. I had mine replaced, with what I consider a competent gunsmith. (I took him the sights) and it shot high.

Make sure you deal with someone selling the sights that understand this issue. Like quite possible the reference above.

The big dot front sight sits way up in the sight picture. I like the express rear sight so I installed the set (front and back) on my Shield. I do have a MCO so I can measure things for you, but as XS only makes the one model for the SA 1911 there's not much point.. Ron

Try John Harrison. I think he sells sights that fit the Springfield front dovetail.

No, it's similar to the Novak front sight dovetail but not the same.
