I was walking through Walmart and saw a shelf of these for 15 bucks. Wasn't positive it'd fit so I kept the receipt, but it fit like a glove, just tight enough to keep it from shifting around without stretching the bag and looking like it has a gun inside. The side zipper compartment is the exact depth of a 30 round magazine and runs the length of the bag, you could probably fit about 10 of them in there. If I take the Aimpoint off it'll fit in the bag with a magazine in the weapon. Couldn't have worked out better. The tennis racket case idea isn't new, but I figured I'd give you guys with 10-11" barrels a heads up since these are so cheap.

The weapon is a DD 10.3" MK18 with a SOPMOD stock, but a 10.5" would fit as well.

Nice! For $15 that's a helluva incognito SBR bag.

Good deal! Just make sure the instructors belt, boots and tactical pants dont blow the secret.

That looks like a 20 rd mag will fit while in the bag.

Nice find.

I have a double racket bag that I use.
I don't have an SBR so i split the upper and lower and put half in each pocket. It also has 2 good size pockets underneath that I fit my gloves in one and eye/ear pro in the other.

I hope to be able to do what you have there with the SBR some day but probably not for a while.

Try the local thrift shops or tag sales. I grabbed one for $2.50 at our local Salvation Army store.

Sweet idea, didn't even think of that. Tried it with an old Colt 20 rounder I have and it does fit.

I'll wear a track suit and sweatband every time I take it outside to keep with the theme. :D

Do you think an 11.5" would fit?

With a A2-length flash hider it does seem like it would fit. Grab one and check it out, just keep your receipt.

Red over black, or a real pretty shade of pink- I think not on the pink.

I just don't want the boys at the range poking fun at me.

You got ripped off! Mine was $5 at Play it Again Sports.

Seriously, great idea. I keep my 556 pistol in my truck and there's no where to hide or secure it, so I camouflage it with the cheapest, ugliest tennis racket case I could find.

I actually have the exact same case with the same gun in it, but didn't post pics because I didn't want to blow my cover:neo:

But yeah, I keep mine in it with a loaded 20rd pmag. The outside pouch is good for NFA paperwork, a couple more mags, and a pistol. You get funny looks at the range, but you don't get funny looks walking out your front door!;)

ETA: an 11.5 would not fit unless MAYBE with a Colt N1 stock. It barely fits with the 10.3 with the SOPMOD collapsed, but the SOPMOD does have that rubber pad on the back.

I just keep a 5x7 copy of my form 1 folded up inside the grip. As far as a discrete bag I could never pull off a tennis bag without looking more conspicuous. I've been looking for a laptop bag that would accommodate my mk18 with the upper/lower detached in the same pocket

I certainly don't look like your average tennis player, but the thing is that my libtard college kid neighbors would be a lot more likely to believe that there's a tennis racket in the bag than what is actually in it. Even if they don't believe a tennis racket is in it, I guarantee you they don't think there's a MK18 in it.

Scottyryan,

My 11.5" fits just fine. It has a MOE stock on it now.

The trick is wearing the little white shorts. You have to be a committed operator in this cold, hard world.
