I've performed a couple of pelvic exams on women having a similar tattoo. It seems that an artist in Gastonia, NC can create a butterfly with a woman's genitalia. The labia majora comprise the wings, while minora and clitorus is made to resemble the body and head (complete with antennae).

Beyond the obvious question of "why?" I have to think (and I'm guessing because I have never been tattooed) that receiving one of these tattoos would hurt like a sonofabitch.

That is going to look like an absolute mess when they get older. Like a butterfly smashed on a windshield.

Google bad tattoos and you can look at bad tattoos all night. In my previous neighborhood one of the residents asked to borrow my phone. He called a prospective employer and was told the position had already been filled. He told me that Jacksonville was the hardest town to get a job in of any place he had ever lived. Every time I saw him he was wearing a tee shirt cut off just above the navel and in three inch high letters he had tattooed "EAT ME" across his stomach. I started to suggest he wear a regular shirt with a tail and tuck it in but thought better of it.
Oh man, lots of horrible tats out there. This particular one is not only bad but disturbing on many levels.
I really hate to say it....but the more everyone carries on about how bad that is and unacceptable etc....well you know thats why a person does something like that.
Its for shock value, and rebellion, to be an individual and different.
I wouldnt get it and I certainly wouldnt condone something like that on one of my own kids, nor would I tattoo it on one of my clients.
A big reason that people get stupid shit like that is to drive other people crazy. Its her body, let her have it.

My dad would have been glad to remove it for him and he was Navy. The last Nazi flag he took care of went to the bottom of the north Atlantic with about 100 of Hitler's Kriegsmarines.
It should be noted that not everybody who warrants "shock value" is trying to oppose themselves on anybody else, or anything like that.

If you hide your tattoos then obviously they aren't for shock value any more than the Yakuza do it to annoy others.
But if you have a pink spiked mohawk and a nail through your nose it is probably more about shock value than anything else.
