A Marine Sergeant was decorated with the Navy Cross for heroism in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The action took place in 2010. SecNav Mabus presented the award at Camp Pendleton today. The Navy Cross is the nation's second highest award for valor, only the Medal of Honor has higher precedence.
